1. Scope
This policy applies to the First Woodshop website operated for First Woodshop, a Hostetler & Ludwig brand based in Athens, Ohio. It does not govern a retailer’s website, checkout, warranty process, or customer records.
The current First Woodshop website is an informational and support site. It does not currently offer customer accounts, online checkout, a newsletter signup, or a contact form.
2. Information that may be collected
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and security providers may automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This may include an IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages requested, approximate location derived from an IP address, and the date and time of a visit.
Information you choose to provide
This website does not currently collect information through forms. If you contact First Woodshop through a retailer or another channel, the information you provide will be used to respond to your request and handled according to the practices of that channel.
3. How information is used
Technical information may be used to:
- Deliver pages and downloadable instructions;
- Maintain security and prevent abuse;
- Diagnose errors and improve site performance; and
- Understand general, aggregated use of the website.
First Woodshop does not sell personal information collected through this website.
5. Service providers, retailers, and YouTube
We may allow service providers to process information only as needed to host, secure, maintain, or measure the website. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights and site security.
Links to retailers and other websites are governed by their own privacy policies. The video guide uses a privacy-enhanced YouTube player after you choose to play the video. Google and YouTube may receive information about your browser and interaction with that player. YouTube’s own privacy terms still apply.
6. Retention and security
Technical records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for website operation, security, troubleshooting, and legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures, but no website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
7. Children’s privacy
First Woodshop projects are designed for children age 8 and older with adult supervision, but this website is intended for adults purchasing, supervising, or supporting those projects. The website does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to First Woodshop, please use the support channel supplied with the kit or contact the retailer so the concern can be forwarded to us.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you. Because the current website does not have accounts or forms, First Woodshop may have little or no information that can reasonably be connected to a particular visitor.
You may also control cookies through your browser and choose whether to follow third-party links or play embedded media.
9. Policy changes and contact
We may update this policy as the site gains new features or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
Until a dedicated First Woodshop privacy contact is published, please contact the retailer that supplied your kit and ask that your privacy request be forwarded to First Woodshop / Hostetler & Ludwig in Athens, Ohio.
